The Dog and The Dragon is a short story adapted from Brandon Sanderson's book Rhythm of War. The story was slightly re-written to help with context and the illustrations were made with lino printing.
Concept
Using the traditional printmaking method of linocut helps achieve a texture and feel of a warm storybook. Multiple prints would be made of each page which were then touched up digitally and laid out with the story's texts.
Process
The blocks ranged from small sizes to poster A3 sizes for the bigger pieces that required more detail. They would be then layered with different blocks or materials for experiment, before being brought together and printed as spreads and stitch binded.

This project was reprinted in 2025 for a personalized commision, featuring the scenes from the book in the cover and foiled for a finished look. The book comes in a case and ribbon for extra interaction.
